A rural Alberta riding - guaranteed slam-dunk for the Alliance.

A mushing together of some of the better parts of Vegreville (Don Mazankowski's old riding) and Beaver River (Deb Grey's foothold into Parliament). Perhaps due to the Saskatchewan pull or "Mazankowski moderation", its Reform/CA verve is mild by rural Alberta standards--at least, if you call polling less than 60% in '97 "mild". Once again, Benoit'll make his competitors lay a big Vegreville egg.
