It's interesting to look back upon David Savitt's '97 election prediction site and how one predictor dissected Peace River as if it was potentially competitive, even if--as the end result shows--it could be foreseen as anything but. Which just proves that slam-dunks may be slam-dunks, but by gosh, for opposition parties and just plain poll-by-poll geeks, getting there is half the fun... |

How can a party like the Liberals or PC's even think that they can make a breakthrough when they don't even distribute literature to all people? There are a lot of people in this riding who didn't live here during the last election, and really don't know who the individual candidates are. I even know card-carrying Liberals who as of a week ago, didn't know who the candidate was. Though the odds were slim to begin with, the chances of Liberal or PC pulling an upset are slim when no one even knows who these people are. |
