Pettigrew is a high-name recognition Liberal who won 53% of the vote in the last election compared to only 28% for the PQ. This Seat will stay Liberal

Non-francophones, who traditionally vote for the Liberals, make up a large proportion of the electorate in this Montreal riding. Pettigrew will get re-elected.

The Bloq felt so feisty in '93, it even targeted high-profile Liberal incumbents--most notably Pettigrew's predecessor Andre Ouellet. But when the old Papineau-St-Michel turned into the new Papineau-St-Denis, the Liberal advantage went up a notch. One of those north central Montreal ridings with a sharp polarization between Franco-polls and Anglo/Allo-polls, P-StD is still far from the super-Liberal stratosphere, but it's good enough for Goldilocks.
