The upper class Oak Bay residents will love Liberal tax cuts. Chong will be re-elected easily.

This has historically been something of a swing riding. A Socred held it in the '60's but then won in the '70's as a Conservative. Brian Smith won it back for the Socreds and held it until his retirement in 1989, when Elizabeth Cull captured it for the NDP. I'd be crazy to predict anything other than Chong's re-election this time, and if history is any indication, she'll get into cabinet (Smith was Attorney General, and Cull was Finance Minister) sometime before the next election. Four or eight years from now, however, voters here will probably opt for a new MLA from another party.
