The archetypal South-Eastern new town that backed the Tories in the Eighties and swung so violently to Labour last time. The Tories have learned nothing, changed nothing and achieved nothing since the last election and will probably not win back the trust of people in towns like this. In a local byelection in a ward in this constituency a few weeks back there was a 35% swing to Labour. I think Barbara Follett could increase her majority. |
