Looking at the results from the last election, this one should be interesting to watch on election night. This one is going to come down to a battle between Labour and Conservative. The winner will be the candidate who is the best able to get his supporters out to vote. Labour should be able to squeeze some votes out the Liberal Democrats, but the Tories have tradition here. Good one to watch. |

With the departure of Sir Ray Whitney there will be a reduction in the loyalty vote. The Labour candidate is a well-known and highly respected member of the local community and is supported by the most active Constituency Labour Party in the area. Time for a change, I suspect. |
