16/05/01 NG Email:
Malcolm Savidge doesn't face much opposition here. He's not resting on a massive majority but the Lib Dem threat fell away at the last election and the SNP didn't really get very close. A reasonably easy hold for Labour in the 1999 Scottish Elections should see an equally effortless hold this time.
24/05/01 Stooge Email:
The SNP came within 398 votes if taking this constituency at the Scottish elections and the indications are that they could take it this time particularly as Labour's council is unpopular.
