The Tories held this seat between 1979 and 1987 and ran Andrew Welsh close in 1992. However, I expect the SNP to do reasonably well across Scotland and the new SNP candidate should be on his way to Westminster come June 8. The SNP have deeper roots here than in many places; in the early Nineties Angus was the only District Council in Scotland under SNP majority control. |
