With a 10,000 majority, Menzies Campbell is an extremely popular and respected MP, both in his own constituency and across Britain. In the 1999 Scottish Elections, the absence of a personal vote for Campbell (who has chosen Westminster over Holyrood) certainly lost the Lib Dems votes but they still won easily and there seems little reason to suspect that Menzies will not hang on comfortably in North East Fife this time round. |
