the Liberals are a sure bet in this riding, the NDP candidate was a clear failure in the federal election and now thinks he can win provincially. this riding is very Liberal, and by that I mean quite conservative |

This riding will be a slam dunk for the Liberals, but the only interesting local factor is that their candidate, Olga Ilich, was one of the people behind the rezoning of the Terra Nova region (the northwest portion of Richmond) from parkland to residential. This pissed off some people in the riding, but it's doubtful they would have ever voted for the BC Liberals to begin with. Liberals should win with at least 55% of the vote. |

They won this riding by very comfortable margins in both 1996 and 2001, so easy liberal win here. Richmond is a centre-right riding that is fiscally conservative, but socially liberal, exactly the type of people the BC Liberals are looking for. Besides the Chinese community mostly vote liberal provincially so this should make it an easy win. I expect them to easily won all three of the Richmond ridings. |

Richmond Centre is historically one of the safest seats in the province for the BC Liberals. They'll clean up in this one. |
