Margaret Thatcher's former seat. It went to Labour in 1997. But now with the incumbent Labour MP retiring after the Parliamentary expenses scandal and with the Conservatives targeting this seat so heavily, it is expected to return to the Conservatives: ‘Polls indicate that the Conservatives should win Finchley and Golders Green, a well-to-do part of the north London commuter belt, with ease. Private polling shows that they are between 12 and 16 points ahead of Labour in a two-horse race. Labour's majority, after it was held at the last election by the retiring MP Rudi Vis, is just 741.’ http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/apr/13/thoughts-thatcher-constituency-tories |

Rudi Vis jumped before he was pushed; this is an easy gain for the Tories. |

With such a narrow majority and no incumbent MP I think Labour are going to struggle to hold on here. This was the former seat of Margaret Thatcher and I think it will return to the blue column again in 2010 |
