This may not be as straight forward as the numbers suggest. David Nuttall only beat James Frith by 378 votes last time. Third time Lib Dem candidate Richard Baum is openly urging Lib Dem supporters to vote Labour. Granted, he only got 900 odd votes last time, but he scored 7500+ votes in 2010 so he is not a total non-factor. Green and UKIP are also not fielding candidates. UKIP got 5600 votes last time and they are overtly backing Nuttall for what it is worth. Going to be an interesting contest. |
