Simcoe-Grey is one of the strongest Tory seats in the province. With Jim Wilson up for re-election it would take a complete Tory collapse for this seat to back anything other than Jim Wilson and the Progressive Conservative Party. |

Part of it was Ed Harper's federal Reform seat in '93--and in 1997, this was the closest Reform came to winning a seat in Ontario. Wilson himself earned an over 2/3 mandate last time around. You'd need an awful lot of nitro to blow this deep blue something up... |

I drove through South Simcoe and Grey yesterday, no big push for Jim Wilson in signs. Discussion at coffee hour in retirement community Thursday morning suggests split in votes - no real support for Wilson or Harris - but uncertainty about what the Liberals can do. |
