03/10/00 Mark A. Schaan Email:
Judy's been here forever. She's not going anywhere and either is NDP.
10/10/00 Brett Quiring Email:
Since J.S Woodsworth was first elected in 1921 this riding has only elected a MP that was not ILP/CCF/NDP only three times (58,88,93). The riding will continue to stay NDP.
17/10/00 Garth Email:
Judy has strong ties to the large community of Ukranians as well as a righ ranking in the party. Combine this with the high profile MLAs in the area of Doug Martindale, Becky Barrett, and Dave Chomiak, and the only challenge that Judy has is to make sure her name is on the ballot.
19/10/00 WMK Email:
Judy "Wash the dishes-please" should be able to get re-elected without too much of a fuss. Like Bill Blaikie in Transcona, she is a respected MP in a traditional NDP area.
21/10/00 AS Email:
Elections Canada must have created this riding as a memorial to Stanley Knowles; it took the strongest NDP parts of two long-time NDP bastions (including Knowles'), both of which tragically fell to the Grits following the Pawley govt implosion in '88 (and stayed that way in '93), and stitched them together to form presto, one new riding that's a guaranteed NDP keeper (no relation to Cyril;-)). Slurpee Orange it stays.
26/10/00 Janey Canuck EMAIL:
This one will definitely NDP. Judy is an NDP star and one of the best MP's in the House of Commons!
