Judging from the 1997 results, the only real question is whether or not the Tories will be able to break double-digits here. Easy Labour hold.

Labour will still win but the incorporation of Cumbernauld new town into North Lanarkshire is hated there. Cumbernauld used to be Dunbartonshire and Kilsyth used to be Stirlingshire, they don't like being called Lanarkshire and they are sick to death of the appalling Labour run council. The old C&K council used to be evenly split between Labour & SNP. Kilsyth and Croy were strong Labour, but Cumbernauld marginally more SNP. C'nauld used to be part of the East Dunbartonshire seat (alongside Strathkelvin) which was SNP in the 70s (and even tory for 5 months in 1974).
