Formerly called Clackmannan, this is a perennial SNP target. However, the SNP couldn't win it in the Scottish Parliament elections with star candidate George Reid, and given opinion poll evidence that the Nationalists poll lower in Westminster elections they won't win it this time either. |

I tend to agree with JR. There is considerable disaffection from Labour in Scotland, but the SNP will find it more difficult to get their vote out against them, particularly since George Reid has moved on to other things. Actually, the old name for the constituency was Clackmannan and East Stirling. The old county of Clackmannan was always far too small to have a seat of its own. |
