Mole Valley is based around the country town of Dorking. As well as commuters the seat has a genuinely rural area - unusual in Surrey. It is a safe Conservative seat. Although the Liberal Democrats poll quite well in some local elections they are not a threat to the Tory hold here and nor are Labour.

The stoned soul picnic Conservatives have enjoyed in Surrey for generations looks threatened by Lib Dems in a couple of spots and even Labour in another--but in Mole Valley, real opposition hope's but something burrowed underground.
