Easy Liberal win in a Liberal seat. PC candidate (who tried and lost by 1000s in 91 and 95) won in 99 only because the sitting mayor and Liberal candidate flip flopped on the issue of out of towners (but still in the riding) had to pay for use of the GF arena. Ouellette is very popular having taught for over 30 years in both the french and english schools here as well as serving 2 (or was it 3??) terms as mayor. Liberal landslide here, sorry Jean-Guy.

1999 was a Tory landslide, but the gap here was still tight. Even a tiny swing to the Liberals would see them win here.

Mr. Lapointe you've got that one right!!! Mr. Laforest will return home and Mr. Ouellette will continue to serve his town well as an mla. He was the former mayor of Grand Falls.

This is a traditional liberal riding. The current PC mla is ... Laforet ... I never heard him speak in the legislature... This riding will be a liberal win on the night of June 9. The liberal candidate Ronald Ouellette is well known in his community and was a former mayor. The current PC mla was elected by a thin 300 votes!

The Tory's were surprised to win here last time, but Cinderella will return from the ball. Liberal will make a gain here and send Jean-Guy Laforest home.....he is very likeable but in an extreme Liberal seat....
