This BQ riding could now be vulnerable to going down. Gilles Duceppe and Pauline Marois were here today. That tells me the BQ is worried they are losing support in this area or they wouldn't be using up valuable time here on their last weekend before the election.

St. Hyacinthe had an NDP showing last election that exceeded the province wide average ... if the NDP are polling at 35 - 45 % in the most recent polls, I am saying St. Hyacinthe and some of the neighbouring ridings may be among the first to go N.P.D.
    11 04 11 Paul Tremblay
The Bloc will easily keep this riding despite the fact that the CPC has a star candidate here. His flip-flopping regarding the gun registry won't be a factor as he never had a chance to win this seat anyway.
Incumbency matters A LOT in this riding, and the incumbent MP is running again... enough said.

The Conservative candidate here is creating controversy over his position on the gun registry. Previously when he was a police officer he was in favour of keeping the registry, but now that he is running for the Conservatives he says he wants to abolish the registry. This controversy made the news in Quebec and Gilles Duceppe went after him:

I'm giving this riding to the Bloc. Thi Lac appears to be a rather vocal MP.
    11 03 28 M.Lunn
The Tories may have come close in a by-election, but this has gone solidly Bloc in every general election and should again even with the Tories choosing the union boss of the police force.
    09 08 29 JF Breton
