#92 Tory target. On the edge of Tory reach right now; Gordon Brown visited today, to try and shore up the Labour vote. Tory Shadow Minister Philip Hammond visited also.
Should go Tory unless the Labour vote recovers from present levels.
2010: Con 33; LD 30; Lab 27
2005 election: Lab 41; Con 32; LD 18

PRIME Minister Gordon Brown visited an Arnold school today, in a bid to give a boost to Labour candidates in marginal seats.
The Labour leader has already visited the county three times in the last 12 months, and his presence now, less than a fortnight before the General Election, underlines Notts' importance in deciding who will lead the country after May 6.
He met and spoke individually to many of the volunteers who were invited to the event at Arnold Mill Primary School, before delivering a speech to the crowd.
‘Thank you for the work you do, the work with young people, the work you do with the elderly, the work you do with particular societies, thank you for the work you do internationally,’ he said.
He received a warm reception from the volunteers - there were representatives from numerous organisations including Oxfam, Arnold in Bloom and Arnold and Killisick Residents Association.
Mr Brown spoke about numerous Labour policies; his commitment to economic recovery, neighbourhood policing and finding jobs for young people by providing apprenticeships for school leavers who have been unemployed for six months.
He praised the work of incumbent Labour MP Vernon Coaker and said: ‘We are absolutely determined, we will fight for every vote, we will continue to fight until the last minute of this election campaign, every vote counts.’
There are two marginal constituencies in the county, Broxtowe and Gedling, and another four seats, which could change hands if the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats have a very good day at the polls.
Labour believes the success of the televised leaders' debates demonstrates a public appetite for senior politicians to be seen and heard during the election campaign.
As a result, Mr Brown is expected to be more visible in the coming weeks, directly meeting voters in key constituencies.
In line with usual security restrictions the Labour Party does not publicise Mr Brown's itinerary in advance.

CONSERVATIVE shadow minister Philip Hammond visited marginal seats in Nottinghamshire today.
Mr Hammond supported Tory candidates in Broxtowe, Nottingham South, Sherwood and Gedling.
He joined Gedling candidate Bruce Laughton on Front Street in Arnold.
Mr Hammond said: ‘We have got a number of key seats in Nottinghamshire. Labour is melting down in the polls and thee is everything to play for.’
The shadow chief secretary to the treasury believes the Conservatives can win in all of the four seats he has visited.
He said Nick Clegg's new popularity will fade as people examine Liberal Democrat policies.
‘This is not about 90 minute television debates it is about policies and getting Britain out of this mess. More and more people are looking at policies on crime, immigration and they are saying we like Nick Clegg but actually we don't like his policies very much.’
Mr Laughton said the high profile visit showed how much the Conservatives value Gedling.
He said: ‘I think the electors of Gedling will give Vernon Coaker his P45.’
