The BC Liberals have probably the strongest candidate ever to run in the North Island for them. Constituents are tired of claire trevena and are looking for a change in 2013. North Island Nick has could surprise a lot of people by picking up this riding.

Many people (including me) were surprised to see the NDP keep this seat easily in 2009 against a strong candidate tied to the Aboriginal community. With the Liberals so weakened, the result this time shouldn't be any different.

NDP should be able to rack up 60% of the vote here, even if Trevena is a bit ?granola-y? for this rural riding. Still, there is a decent right-wing base in the riding, federally and provincially. Bob Bray could make things interesting for the Conservatives, although he hasn't lived in the area very long and there were just 29 people at his nomination meeting, so the party will need some province-wide momentum for his candidacy to translate into votes.

The NDP will sweep the Island and the only issues to be decided are the margin of victory and how much the Green vote will grow. The riding name says it all.. NORTH and ISLAND and this race is not close.
