Cambridgeshire Council election results, where Conservative won 36 of 61 seats (gain of 8) and the mayoralty, effectively forecasted continual Conservative dominance in this region. The county which once boasted some of the strongest support for UKIP in the country has turned its back on the party, where it lost all of its 12 seats. With UKIP in free fall, incumbent Conservative MPs in Cambridgeshire effectively have no competition. |
