Bezan's high-profile within his party, and the seat's settled into being CPC perma-imprinted--the last gasp of its having any pretensions otherwise being Ed Schreyer's quixotic comeback attempt for the NDP in '06. Though the ghost of what motivated said run is apparent in its being the only rural Con riding in Manitoba where the NDP (or *any* party) got over 15%; that Selkirkian ancestral-Dipper spirit dies hard. |
