After a couple runs at the provincial and federal level Effie pulled out the win in 2018. Here in 2022 with a few PC ministers not running again look for a promotion to cabinet for this MPP. |

Out of the four Halton seats, this is the one I see the PCs as most likely to retain. Effie Triantafilopoulos returns, and if the PCs get back into government, likely with a ministry. |

Effie's the Llanfair PG of provincial politics (i.e. the *reeeallly* long name on the election signs). She's also got the strongest cushion of all the Halton Tories (Wellington-Halton Hills excepted)--what helps is that ON-B's more new money than old money a la the lakefront ridings, and less "Mississauga-proletarian" than modern-day Milton. And only in a debacle like '18 could the NDP inch ahead of the Libs--though judging from his subsequent Lib leadership run, it might be argued that Alvin Tedjo was less "bad candidate" than a victim of circumstance; given said leadership run, it's a wonder why Tedjo isn't running again, unless he can see how the deck remains stacked against him... |

Effie Triantafilopoulos was first elected here in 2018 , she had ran before federally and provincially in Mississauga Lakeshore in 2014. This is a liberal riding federally but the pc’s have always done well in Halton area provincially so the federal leaning doesn’t mean much especially this election. New liberal candidate is Kaniz Mouli and not sure who the ndp are running. |

Effie?¢â‚¬â„¢s been a hard working constituency MPP. The Liberal candidate Ms Mouli is also quite impressive, however, Effie?¢â‚¬â„¢s record, her ground game and her experience is no match to anyone. Unless something out of this world happens, Effie?¢â‚¬â„¢s going to take this without much difficulty |

In 2018 when Oakville North-Burlington was a brand new riding, the Ontario PC Party won it by a big margin of 12,000 votes. They were 22% ahead of the NDP that came in second place. With the latest polls showing the PC's maintaining a lead in Ontario, particularly the 905 Region (41% Conservatives, 29% Liberals in the recent Leger Post-Media poll), Effie is cruising to another victory here, for now. https://2g2ckk18vixp3neolz4b6605-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/OCT_2021Ontario-Politics-Omni.pdf |

Despite winning all four seats in Halton Region, Ford did not elevate a single Halton MPP to his cabinet. (Understandably, they are all pretty average/unimpressive... but you figure there would be a token presence for the region) I suspect if Ford is back in as Premier, most of the four Halton MPPs will be back in with him. If Ford is out, none will buck the trend. |
