The NDP finished a distant second here in 2008 (53% for the Bloc, 15% for the NDP) -- they'll give the Bloc a run for their money this time, but probably fall short. Their candidate is a prison guard and union officer whose last run for office was a 2009 campaign for the Mayor of the Plateau borough in Montreal - where he received only 2% of the vote. He probably doesn't have what it takes to steal away this strong Bloc seat -- although nothing is actually impossible this year. |

One of the Bloc's two strongest ridings in the province, so they will need a massive meltdown to lose this. |

Any Bloc seat where the NDP prevailed in a three-way tussle-in-the-teens for second should be treated as ?safe?. |
