Actually, Chilliwack-Hope isn't *quite* as BibleBelty as some of its further-west Fraser Valley counterparts (Hope, in particular, has historically had more of a 'gateway to the BC interior' NDP lean); and let's not forget the provincial NDP's fleeting-glory byelection win here in 2012 (handily 'corrected' in the 2013 general). But federally, the NDP's time here was far more 60s/70s than now. And, yeah--as others have pointed out, the name 'Strahl'. No contest.

I was forced to choke on my 'so blue they drink drain cleaner' predictions in New Brunswick. However, if people here were not outraged by Chuck Strahl literally selling spy data on protesters to his boss Enbridge, and would allow a Strahl to be nominated (even if no relation), that says it all. Despite it's name this one's hopeless. Hey, when even the Greens have to run a Cheney... ;-)
