I'm intrigued by one of the lower posts indicating that the only way a right wing party can be defeated here is if an even more right leaning party was running against it and the post goes on to say that this was one of the seats to stay Socred in the 1991 election. Interestingly, there was a byelection here (I believe in 1993???) where Grace McCarthy for the Socreds ran against Mike De Jong for the Liberals. De Jong won by a slender margin and from what I understand he won as the more moderate candidate. That byelection firmly ended any hopes of a Social Credit come back.

Easy Liberal Win, This I believe is Randy White's MP Seat in the federal government. There is no way that the NDP or anyone in the other parties are going to win here.

Part of the Fraser Valley bible belt so will elect the most right wing party on the ballot. The only way to take down Mike de Jong would be to run have an even more right wing party. This is one of seven seats that went Social Credit in the 1991 election, so the BC Liberals will easily hold this one.

de Jong is starting with a 55-point lead over the NDP in this riding from the past election. Will that lead be trimmed? Almost certainly. Still, would de Jong even need to get out of bed in order to win the seat again? Certainly not.
