In the by-election the NDP was toasted so bad - almost all the NDP vote went to Val Roddick to ensure Vander Zalm lost. She will come and win this riding with a bigger margin than the very popular Fred Gingell. This was were the NDP got 2% in the by-election - this in a riding they won in 1972.

Roddick crushed Vander Zalm on his home turf in the bye-election. Easy Liberal win.

This could be another riding where the Greens finish second. In the '99 byelection, they beat the NDP for the first time. And a lot of people who might previously have voted for the NDP will know there's no hope of an NDP upset here, so the NDP will have a harder time scaring them into toeing the party line.
