1996: Liberals 57%/NDP 30%/Greens 2.5. Nebbeling will of course do even better this time and the NDP will do much worse, but instead of apathetically staying home, many people who might've voted NDP (or who voted PDA last time) will give the Greens a try. A second-place finish for the Greens isn't out of the question - remember the Delta South byelection in 1999. Nebbeling will probably make it into cabinet as minister of some new incarnation of Municipal Affairs, probably merged with another ministry or two like Community Development, Small Business / Tourism / Culture. |
