This is Doug Ford’s riding provincially , prime example how federal and provincial races aren’t always the same in Ontario. Riding has been liberal federally for years and cpc never done that well here , always seem to run new unheard candidates who run once then disappear . although 2008 cpc candidate Bob Saroya managed to find a seat in Markham. Surprised Kristy Duncan ran again as she’s no longer in cabinet and been mp since 2008.

The real attention drawn here in '19 was to Renata Ford's PPC candidacy...but not only was that a dismal flop, it didn't prevent Duncan from receiving the 2nd best Liberal result in the *country*.

Ford Nation clearly hasn't helped the Ontario PCs federal cousins. I would've thought it might at least peel a few percentage points off the Liberal margin, but nope.

This is a very safe Liberal seat. Even during the 2011 Liberal Party collapse, Duncan still won by a 10 point margin.
