Hawkins is likely to win this one with over 50% of the vote, as an incumbent, and a relatively high profile woman in a government that hasn't appealed to women very well. Not to mention the fact that she's likely to gain a bit of a sympathy vote as a result of her surviving cancer. Interestingly, she got her knuckles rapped a little by the local TV station for trying to take advantage of her disease in her campaign literature, and for failing to attend public fora. Nonetheless, she is probably the safest Liberal in the Okanagan - an area where the right-wing party of the day tends to do well. |

| Kelowna residents will again elect immensely popular MLA Sindi Hawkins. Kelowna has been enjoying the benefits of the rebounding economy, and has been little-affected by cuts. The new Okanagan Lake bridge was the icing on the cake that cements the Okanagan in BCL territory. |

| Kelowna has never elected an NDP member and with the liberals beginning to rebound in the Interior, they will hold this one easily. Besides it was mostly the smaller communities that were hard hit by the cuts, not the larger ones, so this one should be pretty safe. |
