This riding may be one to watch. The new voters from the riding expansion, especially into Acadie-Bathurst territory, may make for bolstered NDP support, should they chose to actually run a candidate (none is listed at the time of posting and I am not currently in the riding to see signs). |

I really don't think the Conservatives will go anywhere with Harper in this riding...Liberals will have a goog victory here.......unless Kim Jardine runs for the PC, but this will not happen..... |

The gun registry office is in Miramichi, so this will probably be the only riding in the country where that will *help* the Liberals. Charlie Hubbard is a social conservative, so that should siphon off Tory support in what has historically been a Liberal stronghold anyway. This one's staying red. |

It's been a long time since the Conservatives have done well in this part of New Brunswick, and the NDP really does not have a chance. The Liberals will win this riding by default. If I recall correctly, this is one of their best ridings in the province. |

While on the surface this riding may look like one the Conservatives could take, it will likely now remain in the Liberal fold. The gun registry will actually help Charles Hubbard slightly, since the registry database is in Miramichi City and thus provides jobs. Moreover, Hubbard is one of the most right-wing Liberal MPs in Parliament, meaning he'll be able to win sympathy from more right-wing voters. |

This riding may be an interesting one to watch. Odds favour the Liberal incumbent holding on, yet if anger at the sponsorship scandal and the gun registry mounts, it could go Conservative by the slimest of margins. I'm not yet placing this on in the definite Liberal column. |
