Gerard Soroka was first elected here in 2019 , not a well known mp but riding is rural and in alberta so likely to stay cpc. Possible maverick party could come in 2nd as ndp and liberals so low here.

This is where Preston Manning ran against Joe Clark in '88, so take that as a measure of Maverick potential--and somehow, anything containing Rocky Mountain House seems like tempting territory for capital-and-small-M maverickdom on the right. Though here, Jasper is like a more microcosmic version of Banff's anomaly--as a measure of the progress of such things, in '15, it went 42% Lib, 30% NDP, 21% CPC, 6% Green; in '19, it went 33% NDP, 27% CPC, 25% Lib, 12% Green (yes, the Green share doubled in Jasper despite going down in the riding at large).
